GPS issues

GPS accuracy can degrade in canyons, forests, or near steep terrain. When you install the app, ensure location permissions are set to allow precise location access.

Offline

Download map regions before heading out. Offline maps are also required for turn-by-turn navigation when you don’t have a connection. The app is optimized to work even on very limited networks, like satellite connections.

Performance

Only import the features that you need for your trip. This helps to manage your device's memory and battery life.

Storage management

Offline maps and imported features consume device storage. If needed, you can reset the app to remove saved data and clear its storage.

Map styles

Map detail and coverage vary by style. Some styles may not include detailed feature information. We recommend using one of built-in Offroad styles.

If you are new to mapping and GIS (Geographic Information System), then look at our sample files and experiment with the free NavOffroad Planner.
